C’mon, we’re all friends here. Give me the good, the bad and the ugly.
I’ll go first.
For me, it involves rolling out of bed at the beckoning of my kids, who list out their demands before my feet even hit the ground. And that’s only if I get to sleep through the night.
I’ve seen posts about how other parents spend their mornings and how they start their day with kids and this is the type of advice I come across often:
- Wake up earlier
- Do your makeup before your kids wake up (makeup? what’s that again?)
- Complete a yoga session in your living room
- Enjoy your beverage of choice in peace
Everyone is different, but if I woke up any earlier than my kids, I’d be enjoying my cuppa on the couch at 3am before the baby wakes up for a feed and my day begins from there. If I do have the luxury of going back to sleep, I’m more than likely getting roundhouse kicked in the back by my toddler who crept into our bed for “just a few minutes” to cuddle.
The reality is, not every parent has the time or energy to tackle the same morning routine every day. Sometimes you want to call a timeout and go back to sleep for 21314 hours (we’ve all been there), but it’s important to look after yourself and your own wellbeing too.
My morning routine’s sidekick
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’d know how open I am about my realistic morning, daytime, nighttime and all-round time routines as a mum and business owner across my socials. I used to rely on whatever fumes I had left in the tank and any snacks I found leftover by the youngsters, until I was introduced to Your Tea blends to help boost my energy levels.
I mean, I’ll still find a few biccies on the couch every now and then, but despite not having a set-in-stone perfect morning routine, the one thing that stays the same for me is pouring myself a Your Tea energy blend to kickstart my mood and mummy resilience for the day. Even if it goes cold sometimes (welcome to the Tired Glitter Club, enjoy your stay!), it’s my calm before the storm and a nourishing alternative to coffee (and leftover couch biccies).
Super tea blends for super parents
I take my reviews seriously, so of course I had my BS detector ready to go when I first tried the tea blends. My first impression was that they’d just be like the ones I’d see on the shelves at my local grocery store… and boy, was I wrong!
Your Tea has made moments alone with my favourite brew extra special. Their carefully crafted herbal tea blends are made with traditional Chinese Medicine principles in mind, turning any brew into a wellbeing tonic for your mind, body and soul.
I was lucky enough to have a box of blends gifted to me by the company back in 2019, and I’ve been using them ever since. I’ve personally tried their fertility, digestive and energy blends. The other blends they stock include:
- Breast friend, for breastfeeding,
- Liver cleanse, to help reduce toxins in the body,
- Skin cleanse, for reducing problematic skin,
- Sex herbs, for… well, libido and circulation,
- Sleep, gut health and so much more.
Each blend is created to target different areas of concern and the tea itself is very fine, so you get the most out of each bag. I started using the fertility blend first, and wasn’t expecting an immediate change, but my pms was reduced, my cycle readjusted, my breakouts stopped and I noticed a positive change with my mood.
The fertility and digestive tea blends worked wonders across several problematic areas for me personally, whereas the happy blend didn’t have as big of an effect. So keep in mind that not every tea blend will work the same for everyone.
It’s also worth mentioning that these teas aren’t laced with artificial flavours to mask the earthy, medicinal taste from the herbs. Personally, I’m used to stronger tasting brews, but for those who prefer a fruitier taste, I’d keep this in mind before purchasing. My advice here would be, forget the taste and focus on the world of good one cup will do for your body for the rest of your day.
The final verdict…
For me? It was a life changer in many ways. Your Tea makes targeted tea blends as they should be, by acknowledging the mind, body and soul as a whole unit. Introducing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) into your daily routine is like handing your body a blueprint and targeting the problematic areas. A simple brew can help target digestive issues, skin, energy levels, mood concerns and more. I’ll happily continue to use Your Tea blends as a kickstarter to my busy days and a saviour to my energy levels and overall mood when dealing with it all. I highly recommend you try it for yourself, and don’t be afraid to reach out and tell me what you think of it.
